About Me

Hi, I’m Yunus. I’m a backend engineer fascinated by what happens under the hood.

I spend much of my free time exploring lower-level systems topics such as operating systems, concurrency, and performance internals - currently working on my own implementation of EGOS-2000 (Cornell).

I also volunteer within student engineering communities, helping run technical workshops, mentoring peers, and contributing to open-source projects.

CrowdFlare

CrowdFlare helps UNSW students find quiet spots on campus using a real-time, interactive map. Users report busy areas ('flares'), allowing others to instantly see current crowd levels and make informed decisions about where to go.

A Redis clone written in Rust, oxidized for high performance and concurrency. This project implements a fully functional in-memory data structure store with support for various data types, commands, and high-throughput operations.
